This album was special in that we decided sometime in 2009 to start moving away from cover songs and spend time writing originals. Ultimately, during a post-show hang with Blue Oyster Cult’s Buck Dharma and Richie Castellano we asked if either would be interested in helping us on some material. Both agreed and Richie delivers a stellar guitar solo on Newcastle, while Buck not only played lead and some rhythm guitar on Back From Milwaukee and the title track Eyeblinder, we mixed and co-produced both. With their inclusion, Mark Larson came up with the idea of taking this album to the next level. Mark and I met up in London in the Spring of 2013 and headed for Abbey Road Studios to get the project mastered. They met up with Blue Oyster Cult’s Danny Miranda along the way and eventually ended up at the Meatloaf show at the O2 Arena later that week. The vinyl was pressed at United in Nashville. All in all, this album was a success and propelled the band into further songwriting and recording projects. The release was featured on Blueoystercult.com shortly after its release.
